Helanthium bolivianum 'Vesuvius'
Previously known as Echinodorus angustifolia 'Vesuvius'. Like all "chain swords", this one has been moved to the genus, Helanthium It has also been determined that H. angustifolia is a synonym of H. bolivianum. Helanthium bolivianum is very interesting aquarium plant and is fast growing. It spreads easily by runners. For the aquarium hobbyist who has been looking for new and different varieties of sword plant, this will be an outstanding addition. Lighting conditions from low to high will work with the medium range being optimal in the aquarium. 'Vesuvius' derives its name from the curl of the leaves similarity to wisps of smoke off the top of Mount Vesuvius. H. bolivianum 'Vesuvius' was developed by Eu Kwee Hwang of Oriental Aquarium, by selecting from normal plants of Helanthium bolivianum "Angustifolius". For more information, click here.
